Is my last name latin?

my last name is Constant i am from ireland and i have never met someone with the same last name as me who isn't related, i know for a fact that it is not an irish name and people are always asking me if I'm spanish decent as my fathers side of the family are all olive skinned ,black hair and eyes, but yet know one seems to know anything about our ancestry, has anyone ever met someone with this last name??
