Is it possible for a 240V sconce fixture using a halogen bulb to be hard wired to a 120v circuit?

I bought two European sconces which each use a halogen G9 Pin 60W bulb with the understanding that it was for use in the US with 120V. I ordered from a US based company. The sconces shipped from Germany. When received, however, the fixtures were marked 250V. If I am not able to return it, are there ways that I can safely use the fixtures?
