Does NaOH oxidize chlorine like it does for bromine?

I'm studying for an organic chemistry exam in 2 days time, and I'm working through some synthesis problems. I know that adding NaOH to 2-bromopropane makes 2-propanol, so would adding NaOH to 2-chloropropane make 2-propanol as well? I just figured it might since like bromine, chlorine is a halogen.
