Baking cake in halogen oven....?

I have halogen oven. It's brilliant for meat and potatoes but I am getting frustrated with baking cakes. It doesn't bake the cake inside, only from outside and it's still raw inside. Any suggestions? Maybe I put it on too hot temperature? I put it on 180C for 50 minutes.
